Meet The Highland Herd
Our Highland herd is small enough that we know every animal.
Bologna
Our laid-back "lone bull." He loves his ladies and is easily won over with a good scratch on the head.
Dandi
The herd leader—and definitely the most ornery. Dandi doesn't do anything she doesn't want to do, but she's always happy to make sure everyone else is doing what she wants.
Bonnie
Sweet and a little more reserved. She tends to hang toward the back of the group, but she's the one who will give you the most love.
We once had high hopes of making Bonnie our porch cow.
She had other plans.
She's quite happy living her life out in the pasture.
Charlotte
Our curious girl. She likes to think that she is in charge, but Dandi isn't going to let that happen.
She's not particularly interested in friendship unless you've brought food.
Billy Jean
Friendly, curious, and happiest when she's near people—or her best friend, Brooke.
Brooke
She's not a Highland at all, but she's one of our favorites nonetheless.
Our miniature Hereford heifer is almost always right beside Billy Jean and has decided that she only needs to listen to two people on the farm.
Darla
Our heifer calf and truely the definition of "porch cow".
She loves all of the attention. Prefers to never be alone.
Alfalfa
Our bull calf. He always gets lonely when he is away from Darla.
